Rosa Viola Butterfly Cyber Class - bookings now open

 

This class features an Or Nue Goldwork butterfly worked in gold and shades of pink and purple on a background of purple velveteen.

The class is taught over two lessons and includes preparation, transferring the design, couching Or Nue on a slip, applying the slip and finishing the design. This design is suitable for embroiderers of all skill levels but is particularly suited to beginners to Goldwork.

The design is worked using English gilt passing thread and Au Ver a Soie silks.

The kit contains all fabrics, metal threads, silk, needles and pattern required to work the design.  Once you have registered for the class, a requirements list will be emailed to you.  As with last year, passwords to the class and forum will be sent out when the kits are sent.

The Cyber Class notes will be posted online at two week intervals and contain step by step instructions and colour photographs as if you were watching over my shoulder as I stitch.  You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open the PDF file.  This is free to download at http://get.adobe.com/reader/

As mentioned, an online Forum has been created for Cyber Class participants to talk to each other about their progress, ask me questions and post photos.  This is a closed forum that only Rosa Viola Butterfly Cyber Class participants can enter. Beetle Wing Trinket Box Cyber Class - bookings now open

This class features a flower worked using traditional Indian Goldwork techniques using English Gilt metal threads, beetle wings and highlighted with garnets.

The class is taught over two lessons and includes preparation, transferring the design, cutting and applying the beetle wings, couching, applying pearl purl, hooping with purl and making collars with purl. This design is suitable for embroiderers of all skill levels but is particularly suited to beginners to Goldwork.

The kit contains all fabrics, metal threads, Gutermann thread, beetle wings, garnet beads, needles and pattern required to work the design as well as the box to mount the completed embroidery in.  Once you have registered for the class, a requirements list will be emailed to you.  In a change to previous years, passwords to the class and forum will be sent out when the kits are sent.

Pearl Butterfly Cyber Class - bookings closed

This class features a Goldwork butterfly worked in gold and ivory.

The class is taught over four lessons and includes preparation, transferring the design, padding with felt, padding with soft cotton, long and short stitch, applying pearl purl, chipping, laying purl formally, applying plate and twist, 's' ing and hooping with purl. This design is suitable for embroiderers of all skill levels but is particularly suited to those who are looking for a bit of a challenge in Goldwork.

The design is worked using Au Ver a Soie Silk thread and English gilt purls and is highlighted with Swarovski pearls - all on a background of gold delustered satin.

The kit contains all fabrics, metal threads, Gutermann thread, Silk thread, beads, needles and pattern required to work the design.  Once you have registered for the class, a requirements list will be emailed to you.  In a change to previous years, passwords to the class and forum will be sent out when the kits are sent.

This class features a Goldwork dragonfly worked in gold and shades of green on a hand dyed silk background.

The class is taught over two lessons and includes preparation, transferring the design, padding with felt, applying paua shell laminate, applying pearl purl, chipping and hooping with purl. This design is suitable for embroiderers of all skill levels but is particularly suited to beginners to Goldwork.

The design is worked using English gilt and coloured purls, and is highlighted with Swarovski crystals - all on a background of hand dyed silk - making no two pieces alike.

The kit contains all fabrics, metal threads, Gutermann thread, laminate, beads, needles and pattern required to work the design.  Once you have registered for the class, a requirements list will be emailed to you.  In a change to previous years, passwords to the class and forum will be sent out when the kits are sent.
