Standing Tall
An Australian Grasstree stands alone. These amazing Australian
native plants provides food for some birds while others use their
tall flower spikes as a lookout post. This piece is worked in
a variety of English Goldwork threads and Japanese couching
thread over a ’ground’ of silk and organza fabrics.

Garnet Garland
This project uses one of the beautiful French silks that I brought back from Paris September 2010.
I have embroidered a garland over the gorgeous silk, using cherry coloured freshwater pearls,
garnets, a Swarovski crystal flower

French Floral
This piece is inspired by and uses the techniques of French Goldwork from the 1700’s.
In the mid to late 1700’s gentlemen were resplendant in their floral and foliate
embroidered coats with matching vests and breeches for attending Court. This piece uses vellum
for padding (guipure) with satin stitch in passing (filé) and features laid rough purl
(frisure), spangles (pailettes) and rococo (frisé) threads. Design size: 17.5cm x 21.5cm.
