Strawberry Sensation was a piece of stumpwork that I embroidered while
studying an Art and Design course. During the course I discovered that I
had to stitch everything that I designed and that I needed many more hours
in the day! When travelling to a course part by car, then bus, then tram
and asked to bring fruit for subject matter as well as all of the usual
folios, pencils etc, I opted for a punnet of strawberries and wondered how
many ways I could sketch them (and then eat them for lunch). This was the
result.

Madame Rasberry. The challenge for the Embroiderer's Guild exhibition in
September, 2004, was titled "Tiny Tarts and Petit Fours",
to go with the edible title of the main exhibition "A Feast
of Embroidery". Being challenged to create a tiny tart no
larger than 10 centimetres, I couldn't help myself and had
to create this raspberry tart in the style of the famed Moulin
Rouge.
