I am pleased to announce at I am now teaching regular casual Goldwork/Stumpwork classes on the western side of Melbourne.  These are going to be held at Itchin for Stitchin in Bacchus Marsh on selected Friday evenings.  Check out the Classes page for dates.

Stumpwork Deer Floral

Featuring only techniques used in traditional Stumpwork embroidery from the 17th Century, this piece is a delicious challenge for the experienced Embroiderer.

Worked in a variety of silks and English metal threads on a silk satin background, it features petit point slips and five variations of needle-lace among its many techniques.

 Siennese Illuminated Treasure

This piece features both Goldwork Embroidery and Stumpwork Embroidery techniques to create a rich little jewel measuring only 8.5cm x 10cm.  Now featured in the New Release section.

Exhibitions

If you are going to Bendigo to see the Grace Kelly exhibition at the Art Gallery - call in next door to see an exhibition of Anglican vestments at the Capital Threatre.  Faith in Fashion is on from 11th March until 17th June and is well worth a visit.  Pieces on display range in technique and age - from a Goldwork vestment by Pugin through to modern pieces using Patchwork and surface embroidery.  There are some very beautiful Goldwork pieces on display.  Entry $9.00
